Framed – New Art Exhibit Featuring West Ada School District Student Art

MERIDIAN, ID – From April 29 through May 19, 2025, Meridian City Hall’s Initial Point Gallery will display Framed, an art exhibit showcasing two-dimensional and three-dimensional creations by elementary and secondary students in the West Ada School District (WASD). The gallery will also hold an open house artist reception event on Tuesday, May 6, from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. to celebrate the students and their artwork. The gallery and artist reception are open to the public and free to attend.

Artworks in the exhibit are selected through a West Ada School District art contest to select a School Choice award winner to represent each school. In addition to the School Choice awards, student artists also receive awards from the district and other local figures and organizations such as the Boise, Eagle, Star, and Meridian Mayors, the Meridian Arts Commission, and the Meridian Chamber of Commerce. The Meridian Arts Commission also recommends that the award winners they selected to become public art installations in the form of traffic box vinyl wraps throughout Meridian.

Initial Point Gallery is located at 33 E. Broadway Avenue on the third floor of Meridian City Hall in downtown Meridian. The gallery, which is curated by the Meridian Arts Commission, features a rotating series of art exhibits highlighting a variety of local, regional and national artists. It is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Additional information about Initial Point Gallery, including its schedule of upcoming exhibits, can be found online at: meridiancity.org/gallery or contact Meridian Arts and Culture Coordinator Cassandra Schiffler at cschiffler@meridiancity.org.
